Competition Format
Max Output. Measurable Performance. Capability Under Pressure.
NXF Trials is a high-intensity performance competition built around max-effort intervals, explosive movements, and measurable output across multiple modalities.
Unlike NXF Classic, which emphasizes continuous race execution under pressure, NXF Trials is designed to measure how much performance an athlete can repeatedly produce as recovery windows shrink and fatigue accumulates.
Athletes move through four progressively compressed stages of output designed to test force production, recovery efficiency, pacing strategy, structural control, and repeatable execution under fatigue.
This is not about surviving the workout.
It is about maximizing performance under pressure.

How Scoring Works
Athletes accumulate total combined distance across all four conditioning efforts:
Every meter matters. Highest total combined distance wins.
The Rule
Athletes must successfully complete each movement challenge before beginning the conditioning effort that follows.
Failure to complete the required challenge results in a 25% reduction of the athlete's conditioning time window.
Miss the lift. Lose time.
No free output. No bypassed work. No reward without execution.
Example Penalties
8-Minute Run
Failure reduces to:
6 Minutes
4-Minute Row
Failure reduces to:
3 Minutes
2-Minute Bike
Failure reduces to:
90 Seconds
1-Minute Farmer Carry
Failure reduces to:
45 Seconds
No free output.
This reinforces the foundational NXF philosophy: Capability Before Capacity. The goal is not simply to survive the event.
The goal is to repeatedly produce force, recover efficiently, maintain composure, and continue executing under pressure.
Event Weekends
NXF Trials is traditionally held during NXF event weekends alongside:
NXF Classic
Saturday
NXF Trials
Sunday
Athletes can compete in either format individually or take on the full NXF weekend experience by competing in both.
While both formats share the same movement DNA, each tests different expressions of athletic capability.
